How It Counts
The checker uses the 2A613 reciprocity map’s own data and the same rules, so its numbers always match the map. You can carry means a state honors at least one of your permits (or issued it). No permit needed means none of your permits is honored there, but that state lets visitors carry with no permit at all; age limits and rules apply. Pending items that are not confirmed on an official page are not counted.
Want a single state? Can I carry in…? Every state. Driving south? I-95 from Brooklyn or Lakewood to Florida.

Checked against official sources November 6, 2026. Laws change: always verify before you travel. A state where you can carry still has its own rules: places where carry is banned (schools, government buildings, airports, bars and more), magazine and ammunition limits, and duty-to-inform rules. Federal property is off limits. Inside New York City you need an NYPD license (a NY license from another county is not enough), and Washington DC honors no other state's permits.
